INTERUNIVERSITY MASTER’S DEGREE IN LEGAL AND CRIMINOLOGICAL SCIENCES FOR SECURITY AND INTELLIGENCE
Interuniversity Master’s Degree in Legal and Criminological Sciences for Security and Intelligence (Scienze giuridiche e criminologiche per la sicurezza e l’intelligence) – LM/SC-GIUR class (Legal Sciences) – promoted by the Department of Law at the University of Verona and the Faculty of Law at the University of Trento, in close cooperation with the Interuniversity Centre for Security and Crime Sciences.
Accredited by ANVUR on 24 July 2025, this programme (in Italian) offers a unique pathway in the Italian academic landscape. It is the result of a long, shared, and passionate endeavour built on the extensive experience of two universities that have long invested in research and teaching in the fields of security, crime, and intelligence.
The degree aims to train highly specialised legal professionals capable of operating in strategic areas such as public and private security, crime prevention, intelligence, and risk analysis, with an interdisciplinary background and cutting-edge tools to address the challenges of contemporary society.
Open to graduates from various academic backgrounds, the programme offers two tracks (security and intelligence for the public sector; security and intelligence for the private sector) and combines legal expertise with knowledge from criminology, computer science, statistics, psychology, economics, history, and medicine.
The course has been developed and will be delivered in collaboration with a network of national stakeholders to ensure constant alignment with the needs of the labour market.
Classes will be held in person at the University of Verona and online.
OHTER masters and advanced training courses
MASTER OF LAWS (LL.M.) IN CYBERCRIME, CYBERSECURITY AND INTERNATIONAL LAW
The online Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Cybercrime, Cybersecurity and International Law aims at training participants in international law and applied practices to investigate and combat malicious cyber activities, as well as at providing them with in-depth knowledge of existing cybercrime prevention strategies at various levels, with a focus on the international dimensions of cybercrime and cybersecurity.
Implemented by UNICRI and the UPEACE, in collaboration with the Centre of Security and Crime Sciences (CSCS), the LL.M. adopts a holistic and multifaceted approach that aims at building the capacity of participants in all areas and disciplines related to cybercrime and cybersecurity related to the law, such as: criminology and social sciences, victimology, psychology, economics, organizational sciences, and computer science.

ADVANCED TRAINING COURSE “PLANNING, IMPLEMENTING, AND MANAGING URBAN SECURITY SOLUTIONS”
Advanced Training Course (in Italian) designed specifically for Executives and Officials of Local Police Forces in the Veneto Region. The course is organised by the CSSC (Interuniversity Centre for Security and Crime Studies) with the support of the Veneto Region.
The course aims to provide advanced, interdisciplinary skills in urban security, enabling participants to identify and analyse security issues in their local context, design appropriate and sustainable responses—also participatory and integrated—and assess the effectiveness and efficiency of implemented measures.
The broader goal is to promote innovative knowledge, methods, and tools for the strategic, multidisciplinary, and long-term planning, implementation, and management of urban security solutions. The course draws on legal, sociological, criminological, and technological perspectives.
The course will be held at the Department of Law of the University of Verona and will also be accessible online via hybrid delivery.
CRASH COURSES
MULTIDISCIPLINARY AND PROFESSIONALIZING CRASH COURSES (ONLINE)
CSSC's crash courses provide pathways for acquiring innovative and multidisciplinary knowledge and skills (derived from university research) useful for addressing the most important challenges in the field of security and closely linked to the most current needs of the labor market in terms of safety and security.
The courses are aimed at i) security professionals working in various fields (judges, lawyers, members of the police, other employees of municipal or other public institutions, employees of private companies, private detectives, etc.) to deal with innovative topics and acquire advanced technical knowledge useful for their profession, or ii) students, graduates and young professionals who wish to deepen these topics in order to build a future career in areas of security where there is a precise demand for professionalism in the labor market.
The program is currently under definition. The courses that are likely to be activated are the following (tentative titles):
